OPERATIONS MANAGER – Skincare and Beauty

 

BLAQ is an Australian skincare brand designed to take prime position on your bathroom vanity. Our products are minimal, our packaging is desirable and the results are downright remarkable. We’re the cool kids when it comes to innovation and hell bent on becoming the new age staple, making over your skin and making under your skincare routine.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated team player to join our growing business part time for three days a week with the possibility of more days as the business grows.

This role requires a strong understanding of the beauty and skincare industry, someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, who is detail oriented with great time management skills.   

You will think on your feet, problem solve autonomously and be able to multi-task with tight deadlines in an environment where no two days are the same. 

This person must have extensive leadership experience gained from working in a fast paced and continually changing environment, including experience working with e-commerce, production and logistics.

It is a vital role within a fun, creative, energetic, close-knit team, you will play an active role in the production of some of the most in demand and highly sought-after beauty and skincare products in the market! 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

e-Commerce

 

  • Day to day management of our e-commerce stores
  • Responsible for establishment and input of new products into our ecommerce and accounting system, including full specifications, photos and descriptions
  • Management, processing preparation of sending and tracking e-commerce orders

     

    Wholesale

     

  • Management, processing preparation of sending and tracking wholesale orders
  • Liaising daily with all international stakeholders
  • Management of follow up and processing of all wholesale order confirmations
  • Preparing weekly booking / shipping reports and emailing to our international distributors.
  • Communicating with customers for approvals and shipping/delivery details

     

    Admin

  • General data entry
  • Invoicing and order data entry 
  • Inventory management
  • Monitor internal systems.
  • Establish and maintain best practices to ensure smooth running of business operations
  • Analyse business results and trends, and take timely and appropriate action to drive sales and profitability

     

    Logistics

     

  • Liaising with our warehouses and Sydney fulfilment team to ensure all shipments are running on time, managing all Import / Export operations via Air and Cargo.
  • Working closely with our suppliers to obtain Air/Sea-freight quotes and monitor these through to destination
  • Liaising with shipping agents to ensure goods are cleared through customs in a timely manner
  • Preparing weekly booking / shipping reports and emailing to our international distributors.
  • Liaising daily with all suppliers to ensure on time deliveries

    Miscellaneous

     

  • Handle multiple assignments under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines
  • Managing admin / vendor requirements for all major accounts
  • Stock Report Management
  • Quality control, with very high attention to detail

     

     

    ABOUT YOU:

     

  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Extensive experience in production, logistics
  • Excellent understanding of current trends in the beauty industry and the competitive landscape
  • Good understanding of digital media trends including online marketing and social marketing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Willingness to learn and grow with this close-knit team 
  • Working with FMCG brands, and it would be helpful if you’ve worked in these categories
  • Existing relationships with suppliers in these categories would be very helpful
  • A high attention to detail and accuracy
  • An ability to prioritise and multi task 
  • A confident can-do attitude
